Multidisciplinary artist Miriam Slaats was confronted with a conflict situation that was profound for her. The process of having to let go had a major impact on her life and work. To get through this period, Slaats sought out nature. The long daily walks and the connection with ‘the circle of life’ have helped her to feel the essential spirit again. During her journeys she distanced herself from the old context and connected with the new: the beauty and expressiveness of Mother Earth. From this source ‘painted’ words sprouted and Slaats photographed the magnificence of nature.
In close collaboration with designer Giselle Segura Gelink, the elements: word, image and form, have merged into an ‘art bible’, which bears the title PASO A PASO (step by step).
