Winterreise

In this book the painter Cora Moret makes us part of her Winterreise. The paintings are a free representation of Schubert’s song cycle Winterreise. The music and poems prompted Cora Moret to paint her own dream images and memories.

The result is a series of 24 paintings, sometimes rooted in reality, sometimes abstract or almost mythical. This Winterreise has changed and deepened her working method as an artist, precisely because of the courage to sail a new course.

“On the one hand, you have the technology, you know what you’re doing. On the other hand, you don’t know what you’re doing at all. And that is also the intention, that you enter that zone where it can happen, that you don’t exactly know anymore. Sometimes something fundamentally new arises there. That is the adventure of painting.” The paintings are the report of this painter’s adventure.
