Lotus

Lotus is a book with paintings and poems by Marianne Baan.
She invites the reader to let words and images dance and resonate like music. The poems are soul stories that balance on the border between figuration and abstraction. Her paintings speak a universal language.
The poems slow down by omitting any punctuation and can therefore penetrate deep into the subconscious.

Marianne says: “The soul stories in the form of paintings and poems come from the same source. The creation of color, material and subject is an only partially guided creative process and above all a magical journey into my own subconscious and intended to create awareness and inspiration among readers. I paint directly with matter and in working through the erratic flow of the paint, organic and abstract motifs emerge.”
