This book contains more than 250 black-and-white images of prints made by Ties Poeth on the occasion of the collection in the Mission Museum in Steyl. This Museum has hardly changed since 1931; it is now no longer allowed to change the arrangement of the collection. The collection contains ethnological objects and stuffed animals from China, Argentina, Brazil, Papua New Guinea, Indonesia, and the Philippines.
Poet and writer Daan Doesborgh has written a text and the afterword is by virologist Marion Koopmans. In addition, Victor Mostart and Julia Siahaija, the current staff of the Mission Museum, wrote the introduction.
The exhibition ‘Cut from paper’ in the Mission Museum in Steyl will run until the end of May 2022.
185 of Ties Poeth’s works are shown here; the original prints used for the book.
