Małgorzata Stankiewicz is a Polish photographer living in Switzerland. On 25 March 2016, Polish Minister of Environment approved an extensive logging of the primeval forest of Białowieża. This was done under the pretence of its protection. Shortly after, Małgorzata travelled to the forest to try to capture its unique character and express her emotions about this impending devastation. Through her own interpretation of the forest’s landscapes,
she compiled a book that is a complaint against the human destruction of nature.
