Blind mirror is an encounter with several of the most influential religions known to humanity. Lita Cabellut tells the stories of the impartial, naked soul of every man, born without any religion at all, and the development of his identity. In her sizeable portraits, the artist confronts herself and the viewer with the most famous worldviews in a recognisable and symbolic way. With this series of portraits, Cabellut tries to discuss religion: everyone should be free to speak openly about a God or the non-existence of such. The book presentation takes place during the like-named exhibition in the Hälsinglands Museum in Hudiksvall, Sweden. Lita Cabellut (Barcelona, 1961), born to Sinti parents, lived on the streets until her adoption at the age of thirteen. Her new family introduced her to the old Masters in the Prado. She learned to draw and paint and her first exhibition took place in Madrid when she was just seventeen. She continued to develop, attracted by the Dutch light, at the Gerrit Rietveld Academie.

Blind mirror is the sequel to the successful ‘Trilogy of doubt’ (2nd print, 2013) and ‘The black tulip’ (2014).
