Above the clouds

The mountains and panoramic views make a lasting impression on every visitor. The pictures of Tim Hall add on an extra dimension to that. They show the interaction between nature in the Alps and those who live and recreate there. In addition, they have almost painterly qualities, where the influence of Turner and Rothko is clearly present.

Tim Hall (London, 1966) studied art history at the University of Manchester. He is fascinated by nature and cultures. His earlier books show Asia above all. Hall exhibits all over the world, from London, Berlin and New York to Hong Kong, New Delhi, Calcutta and Bangalore. Anna Tyzack is editor of the weekend edition of the British Daily Telegraph.
